What a surprise it was to see these docked down by the Marina in Hood River. These two vintage schooners had traveled up the Columbia and were getting a lot of attention today. I heard from someone who had seen them coming up the river say it looked like the wind was giving them some trouble. The sight of these couldn't help but make me think of pirates.
I just learned a little more about these ships. They are "The Lady Washington" and the "Hawaiian Chieftain" . They are on a "Rediscovering the Columbia River" voyage. They will be open for public viewing at the Hood River Marina this weekend. Click here for public viewing times.
