Yesterday I wrote about the market for first time home buyers in La Pine and Three Rivers South, Oregon. I was a little surprised to have a few locals chime in and basically disagree with me about the current market.
The numbers do not lie - La Pine and Three Rivers South are showing signs of a down market - which I did not dispute, but what I did find is that neither are in a "declining" market.
A declining market is when the sales prices fall below previous sales. La Pine and Three Rivers South are showing a slow market but not a declining market.
The proof is in the numbers - check out these CMA's and you will see - we are doing a lot better than a lot of markets across the country.

You can still have your new home before the winter holidays - with the inventory to choose from and the snow starting to fall now is the perfect time to get packing and into your new home.

Thesa, Unfortunately the public is more influenced by the media. They are forced to believe the numbers and the facts we are giving them are all made up.
Mana - oh that is so true - but I loved it when the 3rd quarter stats came out.... you see - La Pine is often looked down upon by Bend - so..... we are doing ok all things considered and their homes.... well they have lost value -
Thesa - I agree with Mana, the Media loves the doom and gloom. Plus they speak about national real estate, and many times it has nothing to do with the local real estate market.
Candy - The media does thrive on the negative - however have you ever notice the posts with a ton of comments on AR are usually negative - it is human nature - cracks me up
These.. there is a rather large and vocal minority that just won't believe the market is not going to crash in every city in America. They don't care about what is actually happening in a local market ...and refuse to believe that many markets are not going to crash by 60%.
Kaye - I get it - I just really need a buyer for a home or two - so if one or two people will look at the facts it could be a win win for both the buyer and seller - nice to see your charming comments
If I have one more person ask me "What are you doing now that the real estate market has basically tanked.." I will scream.
