A springtime afternoon in downtown Medford found me and my husband at Elements Tapas Bar & Lounge, hungry but indecisive on what we wanted to have for dinner. We've been to Elements several times since our first visit to this fabulous place in early 2007, when we were meeting friends Downtown or going to a performance at the Ginger Rogers Craterian Theater. Arriving here just after they opened on Saturday, we really had a chance to savor and enjoy not only the incredible selections Elements has, but the wonderful ambiance they have to offer, too. Gazing up at their starry night ceiling, the water fountain, or out at the unusual snow flurries we experienced that day, the time just flew by, and I'll bet they thought we had taken up permanent residence in our very comfortable booth.

Dani, gave us the utmost in attention and care. When asked for recommendations, she came through with the most incredible selections for us to try from both the food and the drink menus. Dani picked up on our individual tastes, and her recommendations for us were right on. My husband and I love to try new and different dishes, and found so many incredible choices on Elements' Tapas menu. Dani recommended a truly amazing drink for my husband to try, a martini called the Toro which contains roasted red pepper, mint, fresh lime, simple syrup and aviation gin. Oh man...I had a sip, and this drink was incredible! So different from anything we have ever tried before, and paired with their Albondigas, its unique flavor was just the ticket. We also shared their Barcelona Flatbread (we followed Dani's suggestion and put the anchovies on my husband's side, and we both really enjoyed this dish), Soft Shell Crab, and topped it off with some Rosemary Pistachio ice cream.
We haven't been to one of Elements' winemaker dinner events, but we'll be making a concerted effort to move this up on our "things to do" list.
Elements' Executive Chef, Chad Smith, is also giving cooking classes at one of our favorite Southern Oregon wineries, Roxy Ann, where we enjoyed there Spring Music series last Friday. My schedule didn't permit me to attend these classes this time around, but I'm hoping he gives more classes soon. Such a fantastic experience deserves to be shared!
Our kudos to Elements Tapas Bar & Lounge, and their incredible people who made our Saturday visit such a wonderful experience. We'll be back to see you again soon!
See you out there!
