Habitat for Humanity ReStore, answer to Where is it Wednesday, Newberg OR 9/14/11
John is correct and thanks for putting in what that structure is..It was driving me crazy not knowing what it was called!
The Habitat for Humanity ReStore located in the quonset hut at 301 N Main St. in Newberg has donated reusable items such as lighting, doors, sinks, appliances, and furniture,to name a few. The day I was here there was even some nice pieces of art. From the E-newletter:
"ReStore resale outlets sell reusable and surplus building materials to the public. ReStore also accepts donated goods which are sold to the general public at a fraction of the retail price. The proceeds help Newberg Area Habitat fund the construction of Habitat homes within our community. ReStore provides an environmentally and socially responsible way to keep good, reusable materials out of the waste stream while providing funding for Habitat’s community improvement work."
Each year I donate to Habitat for Humanity as there is nothing like helping people get into a first home that thought it would never be possible. This was my first trip into a ReStore and I now will be checking them out more often. This is the link for info on all the locations in Portland. Here are a few pics from my visit.

Below are some light fixtures that can easily be updated with some spray paint. I can easily see the colorful one for used for outdoors. Kinda cool!
