SO WHAT DO YOU DO FOR GIFTS TO REAL ESTATE CLIENTS

So.......... what do you do in the instance of giving gifts to your clients after a sometimes long and arduous time finding just the right house for them. Taking a look back at my career, and all the time that has been spent getting to know different clients, finding out the wants and needs, fears and joys it is a rewarding memory. Plus some of them have become lifetime friends. It is a lot of hard work on the part of the Realtor, time spent going over and over the guidelines thrown down by the buyer of what they really want and then when you do, going to look at all of those houses. Sometimes only to find out that is not what they really wanted in the first place, they only thought they did. It can be frustrating, complicated, the need for patience or understanding as I was taught (who needs to have patience when that is just the art of learning patience so you wait and wait), to finally the joy of the buyer getting the home they feel the best in.

Over the years, I have given as move-in and appreciation gifts, plants, floral arrangements, dinner tickets, gift certificates, wine, whatever I felt suited them at the time. I always tried to be original and a little different, something I felt they would remember me by.

I love HGTV and watch whenever I am able, which is not too often. A couple of years ago I watched one program called Color Splash, the host David Bromstad, does some of the most incredible designs. His signature touch for the clients is always a painting he does for them that fits into the design of the home. This was so inspirational for me.

I am not only a Realtor but I am a Watercolor Artist and have sold many many paintings, done commission work, had shows and participated in many Art events over the years. I felt what he did for his clients on the show was magnificent and I could do that as well. So now I find out the clients likes and dislikes, what their tastes lean towards, combine it with the aire of the home and paint them an original painting. This is my gift to them and it has my signature on it so my name is always with them, plus a little piece of me. It has been well received, and my clients seem to really appreciate an original piece of art from the heart. Who knew.
