Congrats Goose Hollow you were just named #9 by CNN/Money in their list of top neighborhoods to retire. Portland keeps showing up on these magazine's best lists. Lists for walking, riding bikes, nature, music [new indie music capital], and now it's also a great place to get old.
When I first moved to Portland it seemed everyone worked part time and spent lots of time socializing so retirees lounging at cafes and taking in a show should feel right at home. For those of you thinking about Portland from some place far away I'd like to correct one little thing in this article; that would be the "con" of being outside the city center. Goose Hollow is considered by Portlanders to be IN the city center [unless you want to live in an office tower].
If you want to see what's in the city center just plug you email into my home search and pick the area "City Center" or you can pick specifically the neighborhood "Goose Hollow"
I love this part of town and have considered moving here - condos are reasonable but parking is a necessity if you have a car. Homes in this area area pricey but most of them are large grand places that justify the price tag.
