Learning HTML - Thank you Candace Robinson!

Bridget's Diary

I did it! I did it! This is my first HTML related post and beautiful HTML piece in one of my blogs. I am so excited.

If you are not familiar with Candace Robinson and her amazing ability to understand, use, and teach HTML, then you are missing out!

I owe many thanks to George Tallabas for introducing me to Candace and want to give him credit for the title of my header, "Bridget's Diary". He always teases me about that because of "Bridget Jones' Diary" when I never even made the connection!

The background of the header is of a sunset, which I know that George enjoys very much.

I don't know where I'd be without Candace or George. They encourage and teach me everyday and I appreciate all that they do for me and fellow Active Rainers!

Candace helped me with this footer, as it was a little more confusing than the header. But I changed it to magenta to match the colors in the header. Fun Stuff!

Como estas?

Congratulations! It's definitely quite the accomplishment there! I spent the whole day researching the coding for the box that you inserted at the bottom and I eventually gave up b/c it was simply too difficult! Anyway, I think I got it now...though I won't be using pink :)

Bridget - You are so cute! I love that someone is willing to give it a try and give it a shot! This is exactly how I started and eventually I just keep adding more and more! I have much to learn and just love tinkering with code over and over again. Just know when you get tired give it a break, it can be frustrating. Always keep your original work somewhere like on word and then if you mess up the code, you can start fresh. I have done that tons of times!! Thank you for be brave to give it a whirl. That means a lot to me! This is what makes those tutorials so fun. I hope you go back and link this to the tutorials so that others can find it! Great job!!

Mr. C. Kim McGuire, thank you for stopping by and commenting. Good luck with your ABCs :)

Sean Allen & Pilar Lorenzo, I look forward to seeing what you come up with when you try it.

Ricardo, Estoy bien, tengo un poquito sueNo. Puedas ver una foto en mi banner? Candace no pueda verla pero yo puedo. Ella dijo que necesito preguntar a alguien si se pueda. Ayudame por favor ;) As far as your banner, I or Candace can help you figure it out. I would love to see you do that! Gracias mi amigo.

Candace, I got the buttons on and centered, and I stretched the footer banner out to 975 width. It is really exciting to have done this. Thank you so much for posting the tutorial and for helping me along the while while I was playing around with it tonight. I know that this is only the beginning and will be like the starting point of what my first blogs looked like and what they've become. Yours are always so fun to look at and that is what makes a person stick around a pay attention to your content. You rock, girlfriend! Also, I'm pretty sure the links are working now and that others can at least see the pink in the banner like I see it, because no one has said otherwise.

Hey there!

I can see the banner photo just fine. I couldn't when you first posted this article...but it's there now :)

I definitely have some learning to do!

Doesn't it feel good when you're able to learn something new and apply it and have it work.  Congrats!  I like the pink.

Looks cool!!! I have been playing but not yet at the "using" stage! Thanks for sharing!!

nice job - it is amazing the help we receive through AR isn't it

Nice work, I read a lot of blogs and sometimes it is nice to see a little color!

Bridget, looks great!  Candace really is the pro around here when it comes to these snazzy HTML posts. I look forward to reading more of your colorful posts.

Bridget-This is exciting. Your post looks wonderful.  I have some reading up to do now.  Thank you for sharing your excitement.

Hi Bridget - This is so exciting to see that everyone is willing to try working with HTML. I promise you with a good Editor and some time you can really have some fun! The possibilities are endless. I'm not sure about others views and depending on your resolution settings on your monitors, the wide view I'm looking at after you modified the width on your banner to '975' made it too wide for me and requires me to use the scroll bar to view your whole page. I would recommend changing it and keeping it under 700 and most computers will fit the entire picture in the screen capture. Hope that makes sense!

Good for you to add the buttons. I will send a great button maker to you via email. These buttons however currently match your website.

I still can't see the banner background and I'm bummed! CAN ANYONE SEE THE SUNSET BANNER BEHIND BRIDGETS BANNER ABOVE, TITLED "BRIDGET'S DIARY"???

Bridget, I love that you are experiementing!!

I really don't see a "sunset" but the "purple/pinkish" colors are a type of "shading". If it is suppose to be a photo of a sunset then I don't see it either, Candace - but it still looks cool :)

Bridget -  Ok I see a purple-ish pink background now and that is super COOL!! LOVE that color and you can you share your source??? Wow!!  (I don't see sunset still)

I'm so proud of you! You're blog looks amazing! now that you have it figured out you can show me! pleeeeease :) haha

Bridget - Thank you for the mention and the humor.  You are growing leaps and bounds and I know you are going big places.  I have been praying for you and your two lovely children and know there are good things ahead for all of you. P.S. I don't see the sunset with my eyes "but I see it in my mind and heart".  You are right, I adore sunrises and sunsets.

Fancy - Dancy! Looking good there and wondering what else you are going to bring us in the next couple months! Should we be worried?

Bridget,

I just found your post.  Now I have to learn to do this.  Thanks!

Mike in Tucson

Bridget, I am a newbie that found Candace's blog just last week. So very helpful. I like this post you did, very nice. So guess what?  I am going to go check out your blog and see what you've done more recently!

Looks great Bridget!  I'll have to check out the other blogs to see what I can learn.  I usually just look for HTML generators online.  As silly as it sounds, there are a lot of websites that you can use to generate things for myspace, but it works on any web site that uses HTML.  You just have to be careful because a lot of them contain links back to the site so you have to find and remove the line that has the link.  Thanks for the info!
