Leaving Money On The Table - Almost 13,000 Unclaimed Oregon Kicker Checks

2007 was our first experience with the Oregon Kicker Refund. The Oregon tax rebate, commonly referred to as the Kicker, is a rebate given by the State of Oregon when a revenue surplus exists returning the tax to both the individual and corporate taxpayers. The Kicker law was overwhelmingly approved by voters in 1980, but the first Kicker rebate didn't occur until 1985 when the calculated revenue exceeded the forecast revenue by 7.7%. This year's refund averaged about $200, and ours was right around $400.

Think you are entitled to a Kicker Tax Refund, but haven't received one? You may contact the Oregon Department of Refund to see if yours has been held up for some reason.

See you out there!
