It's FAIR TIME

Malheur County's Fair is THE BEST! Why? Because in addition to all sorts of other good fair food we have HAPPY BOWLS! The Buddhist Church groups make stir fry all day long and it is GOOD! Plus it is the sort of end of summer kick off of school year event for the whole region. Of course it's hokey fairs are supposed to be hokey. But as a kid it was heaven. I was a very bored farm kid and it was Shangrila to get to go to town every day and see my friends and be away from parental oversight. I could do this because I had farm animals on display and was competing with my fellow 4-hers for prizes in showing and judging. I will now confess that I did just as well as everyone else by judging the pigs purely on how curly their tails were. I'll be working in the Democratic party booth for awhile this time and it'll be fun to see everyone. Take the time to go to your area's fair - it's fun!
