The market is not spooky today! Oct 31st Video market update
Hello Friends and Happy Halloween!
Surprisingly it is a Halloween Friday on the market and so far, nothing to be scared about! With mortgage bonds AND stocks both in the black this morning, maybe that is it, being in the Black on Halloween.
The PCE or Personal Consumption Expenditure Index was released this morning, the Feds key index they monitor to truly measure inflationary pressures, came in lower than expected, showing a relief from inflation. This was mainly caused by the continued decline in oil prices as well as consumers spending less. Consumer spending had the biggest retreat for in 4 years, meaning we are actually saving more than we are spending, shocker!
Mortgage backed securities are enjoying a nice rally and are up nearly 50 basis points with the DOW also up 41 as I type, but we know how fast things can change. Please watch the video for more details.
Be Blessed!
