Tualatin's 8th Annual West Coast Giant Pumpkin Regatta, October 22, 2011 (with video)

Tualatin's 8th Annual West Coast Giant Pumpkin Regatta, October 22, 2011

Today I was strolling around Tualatin Commons on the Lake where lot's of events go on through out the year, and looking out into the lake I espied these GIANT pumpkins...and inside these humungous gourds I spotted Batman, a Nun, Bigfoot..or maybe a Gorilla and more. No, I hadn't been drinking!!

This of course is Tualatin's Annual Giant Pumpkin Regatta and those folks in costume were doing there best to move those GIANT pumpkins from one end of the lake to the other. Much fun and cheering on!

This is not the only thing to be found!  Oh no...there were lots of things to do for ALL ages. While I took my stroll, I listened to live music, watched as adult and child alike tried their hand at putting a golf ball into a floating pumpkin, breathed in that delicious scent of kettle corn and successfully dodged the train that went by. I passed by tables of carved pumpkins, noted lots of kids with face paint carrying funny looking balloons and watched as proud parents took pictures of their little ones posing in a GIANT pumpkin. I missed it, but there was reported to even be a pie eating (pumpkin of course) as well as a costume contests!

Tualatin's 8th Annual West Coast Giant Pumpkin Regatta...this was a fun day for all!

Here is a video of my stroll around the lake
