Lancaster Pennsylvania & Local Home Trade Shows

I had the fun privelege of attending the Philadelphia Fall Home Show on Sunday, Sept 28th at the Philadelphia Convention Center .
It wasn't as large as I thought it would be, but there were a number of vendors that welcomed us as we stopped and browsed for various home improvement ideas, decorating ideas and ways to simplify our lifestyle.

And, I got a great deal on a set of 600-thread count Egyptian Cotton sheets ~ for only $20! You can't beat that deal!

There were rows and rows of vendors displaying their decking and fencing materials. We're in the process of deciding what to do with those ideas ~ do I go with vinyl? do I go with iron? do I go with the vinyl that looks like iron? do I expand the deck with TREX or similar material? do I tear out the deck and add a stamped concrete patio? Decisions! Decisions! Decisions!

It helped, though, to see a number of variations and examples and some color combinations that I had never considered before.

I also loved looking at the basement egress windows, as I have dreams of knocking out some of our old basement windows and replacing them with these bright and sunny units that would help to fill our lower level with light ~ and of course provide safe egress in case of an emergency, which is a code requirement if you are considering finishing your basement

• Feb 27 - Mar 1: Spring Eastern PA Home Show, Allentown Fairgrounds
• Feb 27 - Mar 1: Historic Home Show of York, York Expo Center - The Historic Home Show at York is a showcase of ideas that blend today's necessities with historic homes without compromising their integrity. This show features numerous exhibits including architectural salvage, fine art restoration, floor and wall coverings, furniture restoration, millwork and mouldings, windows, porches and landscaping.
• Feb 28 - Mar 8: PA Home Show, PA State Farm Complex in Harrisburg, PA -- one of the LARGEST home shows in the Northeast - a whole week long!
• Lancaster Convention Center - Spring 2009 - I can't quite recall the dates for this one (and I will edit this to post the dates as soon as I find them), but it's going to be a really big deal because it will be one of the first conventions taking place in our new Lancaster Convention Center. It's one that not only will I be attending, but one where I will be exhibiting ~ and I'm excited about it!
