The 12 Days of Listing (Your Home for Sale in Lancaster)

Do you have a Home for Sale in Lancaster County, or one that you are thinking of Listing for sale within the next few weeks? I've been getting into a holiday mood, and thought it might be helpful if I shared my rendition of The 12 Days of Christmas as The 12 Days of Listing -- or -- How to Prepare Your Lancaster Home for Sale in 12 days! Click Here to See Day 1 of the First Day of Listing Your Lancaster Home.

2. On the 2nd Day of Listing (your Lancaster home):

Clean out your cabinets! Yes, you know those dark, scary corners under the bathroom sink? It's time to get rid of the case of soap bars that you have stuffed in your bathroom vanity cabinet. You know the ones -- the ones you bought on sale only to find you've had an allergic reaction to them. No, the buyers won't want them either. And the dried up tube of anti-itch medication you‘ve kept just in case you used that soap again? Ditch that too.

Cleaning under the kitchen sink. Yes, you can plan on getting rid of the tons of grocery plastic bags you've been tossing under there for the past 3 years, just in case you need them. Nobody need 50 plastic grocery bags. How about reusing them the next time you go grocery shopping! That's a much better idea than ditching them. No, the new buyers won't want these either, so no excuses!

You know those "junk drawers" so stuffed you can hardly open them? You guessed it. Time to get crackin' and pry them open and dump them out! You think buyers won't look in there? You're wrong. They will, and they might even rummage through them! Of course it's not because they're nosey, it's because they need to see if there really is a drawer under all that stuff! Plus, they need to evaluate if it will hold all of their junk. Time to toss the magic markers that no longer work, time to ditch the bent paper clips you've been saving "just in case". Hey wait!! Is that my Business Card magnet in there? Why is it in your "junk drawer?" Okay, I'll over look it for now. But just this one time!

You want your cabinets and drawers to look organized, clean and spacious. This is much more important than you might realize!
