ABA/APBA Baseball Convention, Langhorne,PA March 4-6

Twenty four managers(located all around the US)of the American Baseball Assoc.(ABA) are preparing for the league's 25th annual Convention conducted by hosts Jerry & Pat Valenti. The action begins on Friday night with the first round of the playoffs. Also that night league managers typically make final decisions about the fate of their teams for the upcoming season(April thru Nov.). Are you going for it ? Or does your team have too many holes to compete ? Saturday features our World Series and All star Game. Additionally we hold a 4 hour Free Agent Draft to fill our rosters. But the real high-lite of the night is a huge trading frenzy as managers pull off blockbusters to reshape their rosters. Our Convention concludes on Sunday morning with breakfast at the Blue Oyster Diner in Oxford Valley Mall area, allowing last minute trading opportunities(does anyone have a napkin?). We all depart for our drives home and our league commissioner Valenti leaves to delivery his Sunday sermon at his church !

This year is special for me as my Maranatha Praise ABA team returns to the playoffs for the first time in 4 seasons. The Praise led the league with 116 season wins, but that means nothing once the playoffs begin . I've had really good teams knocked out by a lesser team that's just hot !
