Eventually- but not just yet, they still need to get their ducks in line, wait that should say their horses in line
It was no surprise to the officials of Valley View operations for Centaur that the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board did not issue the slots license for the racetrack/casino at yesterday meeting in Harrisburg.
The Indiana based Centaur approved at the Harrisburg meeting the withdrawal of one of it’s investors as a partner in Valley View Downs,
The officials of Centaur said this withdrawal of this partner would not financially hurt the project.
Centaur wants to build the harness racetrack and 3,000 slot casino in Mahoning Township about 15 minutes from New Castle , 20 minutes to Youngstown, Ohio and 40 min to the Pittsburgh airport
I attended the New Castle Women’s Conference last month and the anticipation and excitement over the Valley View Down’s $429 million dollar venture was very contageous. The speakers were excited and positive about
the opportunities available not only for women but for the community as well. The conference was a well received, positive, uplifting, informative and fun.
So here we are at the starting gate waiting with patient anticipation for that ever elusive gaming license.
I have always said New Castle is a very relaxed city, but I sure hear a Buzz of excitement and wonder.
