Women network differently from men!

Women network differently from men.

As nurturers, women bring a particular skill set to the table and we look to form a relationship with our referral partners. With that in mind, the Professional Women’s Business Network is a “non-profit group established to bring together businesswomen who are looking to share their expertise with other diverse businesswomen.

Each PWBN chapter holds monthly meetings to provide our members the opportunity to enrich their knowledge base and expand their network.

From its humble beginnings just about four years ago, PWBN is currently expanding to three states and the possibility exists to go national with this exciting concept. Each month, new group leaders and new locations are announced.

I am honored to be the co-leader for the Newtown, PA Chapter. Palate RestaurantEach month we welcome 25-35 professional women to Palate Restaurant ~ 31 S. State Street, Newtown, PA for exuberant networking, and lively discussion on a business related topic. Are we generating business, yes? Are we generating referrals for one another as we learn more about what we do and how we conduct our businesses, absolutely!! We are also growing as businesswomen and as women. The Newtown meetings and the few area meetings I have managed to treat myself to since the new year began.

Many would describe me as a workaholic, not uncommon on these Active Rain pages. I have always, from my school days and my first days as a high school student working part time as a clerk at Sears Roebuck concentrated on the tasks to be done. As a student it was about the tests to be taken, at Sears it was the stock to be put away, the customers to be waited on. Today, it is the client to be serviced, and the agents in the office to be helped.

I was first invited to a PWBN meeting just about 2 years ago. I checked it out and enjoyed the format and the women in the group. As the founder decided to grow the group and invited me to help, I first saw the opportunity to help new business owners. It was an opportunity to “give back”, although I am not a big fan of that phrase.

I have gained so much more than I have given. PWBN has enriched my life in so many ways and I invite to join me.
