Feeling comfortable with buying a home in today's economy

Prices of real estate is unbelievely these days. Buyers including investors that aren’t buying now are going to say “ I wish I would have bought that home when it was $120,000 in 2011.” The truth is that people can’t be scared into buying. People will buy when they feel comfortable. Sometimes it is just about understanding the process that will give you the confidence you need to do it. At the moment the uncertainty of the economy is on everyone’s minds. If you feel good about your personal financial situation maybe it is a good time to move to a new home, buy your first home, or start investing in rental properties. Everyone has different situations ask yourself some of these question:

  • Do I feel confident with my current job?
  • Are there homes in my price range that I didn't realize I could buy?
  • How much would a mortgage payment be versus what I am paying in rent?
  • Do I understand the process of buying a house?
  • Do I need to sell my current home to buy a new one or should I keep my current home as a rental?
  • Would selling my home and downsizing now give me more financial freedom?
