The 13th Annual Walk/Run To Break the Silence on Ovarian Cancer

Today, I walked in the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition's 13 Annual Walk to Break the Silence on Ovarian Cancer. I walk in support of my mom, a three year survivor. This year my family joined the folks at Temple University Hospital’s Cancer Center. Our team reached 82 members and so far we raised over $6200.

It was dry but very muggy day in Philadelphia, PA’s Fairmount Park. The turnout at the event was incredible with over 1700 walkers. In addition to the walk, this year for the first time was a 5K run. There were several activities from a Survivor’s tent with raffles to a kid’s tent, lots of great information, food and music. It was a time for survivors to get together and share their stories. It was a time for families to support their loved ones who are fighting this disease and remember loved ones lost.
