There are only 84 days left to take advantage of the Federal tax credit for first-time homebuyers. First-time homebuyers are eligible to receive a tax credit of up to $8,000 if they purchase a home by November 30th. The average transaction takes 30-45 days to complete.
So what are you waiting for? Here are a few common reasons:
- I don't have enough money for a down payment. You can use the tax credit as a down payment. There are also additional grants that can help you with the purchase of your home.
- I purchased a home in the past so I don't think I qualify. If you sold your home at least three years ago, you are still considered a first-time homebuyer.
- I don't think I have good enough credit. You can be approved with a credit score starting at 580. We can check your credit for free, and have you approved within one business day.
- I'm in the middle of a lease. Most landlords will let you break a lease if you're buying a home. And even if you have the pay to get out of the lease, the amount of your tax credit would more than cover it.
- I also want to use any grants I may be eligible for. The Federal tax credit does not affect your eligibility for grants such as the OHCD grant from the City of Philadelphia, or the PHFA grant.
- I don't know any real estate agents. You do now! First-time homebuyers are one of my specialites. Contact me for a confidential consultation.
