It's the 400th anniversary of Galileo's creation of the telescope. Imagine what he would think knowing that 2009 has been named the International Year of Astronomy. In tribute several Philadelphia area colleges are participating in No Night Without A Telescope, created by a Haverford College Astronomy professor. Each night, an institution will open its telescope to the public for free. Kids are welcome! What a great opportunity!

Visitors should be able to see Jupiter and its major moons, the Orion Nebula and the galaxy M31. Remember, dress for the weather - you will be under the stars and the new moon. Don't forget to make a wish!
