Morgan Gallery Of Fine Arts | Cheryl Korb – Folk Art Painting

The Morgan Gallery of Fine Arts has a wonderful collection of paintings by Cheryl Korb. I happen to be a fan of both her art and the Morgan Gallery. In fact I like her work so much that I purchased this piece to hang over our fireplace mantle.

Cheryl's worked is described as Folk Art Painting. She masterfully depicts the little details of rural life with the broad view of the landscape. Using tiny brush stroke in place of words she paints a story in scenes and activities that are both familiar and enchanting.

The artists describes herself as one who's painting to save the farm she grew up on in Dalton, Pa. Cheryl tells how as a child she used to sell farm fresh corn on the cob for her farmer father. Back then the cost was 50 cents for a dozen an ear.

Her three children were also raised on the family farm and are now grown and out on their own. She now shares the farm with her dogs, horses, chickens, goat and wonderful artistic imagination.

As I said before, I'm very definitely a fan, but don't take my word for it ... have a look for yourself.
