As all of you know, Hurricane Irene swept through the eastern United States causing damage of flooding and downed trees to many areas. One of the areas hit was Jacobsburg State Park in Nazareth, PA. Jacobsburg State Park offers numerous trails for hiking, biking and horseback riding.
Members of the horse community will be getting together on Saturday, September 10th to help work on the trails. The Lehigh Valley Horse Council has arraged for machinery, etc. to be available starting at 9AM. All will meet at the horse trailer parking lot and will go from there.
Bring along shovels, rakes, gloves, wheelbarrows, etc. to work on the stone and dirt trails.
Anyone interested in helping, contact Kathy Grube at 610-704-4130 to let her know you are coming.
Come help make the trails at Jacobsburg even better! The support of the horse community is important in keeping everyone believing we care about and will continue to care about being able to use Jacobsburg.
If there is rain, the rain date for the work is Saturday, September 24th. If you are unable to come on the 10th, please check that the event wasn't rain dated.
UPDATE 9/8/11: Due to a second round of rain and flooding, this has been postponed until September 24th.
