"I don't need an agent to find a house".
This seems to be the general opinion if you are a Lancaster real estate buyer, and you are absolutely right.
You don't need an agent to find a house.
With trulia, zillow, craigslist, realtor.com and a host of other Lancaster MLS Search and IDX real estate listing sites, not to mention virtual and video tours available at the click of a mouse, you really DON"T need a real estate agent to FIND a house.
But, that's not what I'm here for. I know you can find a house. Especially in this market, with a plethora of open houses every weekend, with technology at your fingertips, with so many Lancaster County houses available for sale.
I'm here to help you BUY a house -- not just FIND one.
Who do you trust with one of the greatest purchases of your lifetime?
Who do you trust to guide you in the right direction when issues arise?
Certainly not the agent representing the seller.
Certainly not any agent who you've never had an opportunity to converse with, to get to know, to get to trust.
And you certainly don't want to go it alone.
Yes, you can "find" a house on your own -- they're everywhere! But, who can you trust to help you purchase a home with terms that meet your special circumstances?
You can trust this Buyer's Agent.

Jeannie - Absolutely! I'm a HUGE advocate of buyer's hiring a buyer's agent to represent them. That is crucial for buyers to have someone representing them and their best interests.
Great post, Jeannie. Finding a house is easy. Buyers have tools to do that these days. BUYING a house is something else, full of risks which a good buyers' agent can navigate through.
The crazy buyer season is in full swing everywhere, judging from the number of posts I'm seeing about buyer agency. Good point about finding a home vs. actually buying it.
