Last Full Week In May...Think Summer Vacation!!!

I have been informed by my children that this week is their last full week of school...in the past the second or third week in June has signalled the official end of the school year, but this year because of mild winter temperatures and the lack of 'snow days', the official school year will be over the FIRST week in June!!!

Of course another 'last' is this week in May...the last full week in May and the last full week before Memorial Day...traditionally for title insurers, the end of May and the end of June have been excellent settlement months...many waiting until the end of the school year to arrange closings!!!

This should be a good yardstick with which to assess the market so far!

As far as our company goes, low interest rates and great property values have spurred a mini 'rally' of sorts in this mostly stagnant market characterized by lack of consumer confidence...of course, gas prices escalating towards $5.00 won't help matters much!

I commented in one of my posts yesterday on how we drove through a section of Chester County populated heavily by the Amish...and my children, as usual, are always amazed at their clothing, headwear, horse and buggies, and traditions...I retorted that they're probably laughing at us all the way back to their gas stations farms!!! If they grow their own feed, which they probably do, they are probably feeling no impact at all from the fuel situation!!! Of course The Amish use no electricity, and do not drive automobiles, and plow their fields using horses...and transport themselves using horses or bicycles!!!

Another illustration of progress going afoul!!!

And by the way...if you're planning a vacation this summer and are concerned about expenses and gas prices, think about Amish Country in Pennsylvania...Lancaster County, Berks County, and Chester County, all in Southeastern Pennsylvania, afford great and inexpensive opportunities for family vacationing and experiencing the 'Amish Lifestyle'...and who knows maybe those friendly Amish can show us a thing or two about frugal living...and great food also!!!

Which leads me to the heart of this post...Rely not on your own intelligence...trust in the Lord in all things and He will make straight your paths!!!

If you've tried everything else, try Him!!!
