Be the "Hero"- Contact past clients about the low rates and their potential savings by refinancing

My name is Brad Burton, I'm a Mortgage Loan Officer for Bank of America in Radnor PA (just outside of Philadelphia). I just wanted to share one thing I'm doing with the realtors that I work with.

I have contacted all of my business partners to make sure they are contacting their past clients to alert them about the extremely low mortgage rates. Most clients that purchased in the last few yrs are going to be over 6% and thus can save a lot of money by refinancing. It is a great excuse to call a past client and show them you are thinking of them. Then, if they do refinance- you are going to be the "hero"- the one to help them save a lot of money on their monthly payments. This should help with future referrals as we know word of mouth is the most powerful source out there.

I just locked in a client at 4.875% on friday with zero points. The client was currently at 6.25%. They are going to save over $340 per month. The realtor that called the client and then had me call the client looks pretty good right now in the client's eyes.

Again, it is a great excuse to call a past client and really help them out. With rates at these extreme lows- a good percentage of your clients could probably save a lot of money.

Contact your mortgage partner as well to be on the same page to capitalize quickly as the rates are changing constantly.
