Schuylkill Haven Jaycees Membership Drive

The Schuylkill Haven Jaycees are doing a membership drive in July, August, and September. This organization is open to members between the ages of 18 – 40.

The dues to join are going to be reduced to $20 for the year, with opportunist through out the year to reduce the dues for upcoming years. We are a community organization in Schuylkill Haven.

Some of the things we do are the Christmas Lights on Parkway, the Halloween Parade, High Rise Socials with bingo for the residents of the High Rise on Parkway. These are just a few of the events and things we hold for the community. Though we have many items we are already doing in the community, we are always open to new events.

Our membership meetings are on the second Monday of the month at 6:30.

Monday, August 1 - Lottery Ticket Fundraiser

Jaycees: Will have a lottery ticket fundraiser that will be for the evening Daily Number lottery on Monday, August 1st. We will sell tickets for $2.00 a piece. The winner of the number will receive $50.00 (match the 3-digit number exactly) and the winners of before and after the exact number will receive $25.00. For example, if the number is 345, the person with the ticket with 345 will win $50.00. The person(s) with the ticket with 344 and 346 will each win $25.00. Members please contact Megan or Wendy for tickets to sell.

Friday, August 5 - Schuylkill County Fair Social

All members are welcome to join in our Schuylkill County Fair Social. There is plenty of entertainment (Collin Raye at 9 p.m.), refreshments (hot dogs, french fries, ice cream, funnel cake, etc...), and activities (games and rides). Admission price is as followed: $10.00. We will be meeting on Parkway at the Hidden Valley Credit Union at 6:30 p.m. and will be heading out promptly. Anyone interested, please contact Megan or Jenn.

Saturday, August 13 - High Rise Bingo Social

High Rise Residents: Bring your bingo chips and your smile by 1 p.m. to the social hall.
Jaycees: High Rise Bingo Social with a Weenie Roast for residents from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.

Saturday, August 20 - Back to School Dance

Children ages 13 to 18 years: The dance will be held at the Pavilion at Bubeck Park from 7 - 9:30 p.m. Chaperones will be available for safety precautions. Admission will be a donation of a school supply such as pencils, notebooks, erasers, book covers, etc... to go to the Schuylkill Haven Area School District. There will be refreshments available such as hot dogs, chips/pretzels, soda/water, candy/gum, etc... We are also hoping to have entertainment from a D.J. and an extra treat with Rita's Italian Ice. More to come on both of those.
Jaycees: Set up will begin at 5 p.m. and shut down will promptly follow the dance. Donations of the items listed above are needed. We will also need some chaperones to monitor the dance. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
