School starts today for Council Rock School District!

One of the biggest draws to living in Wrightstown PA, for me, is the fabulous elementary school that we have. A nationally recognized Blue Ribbon School (in both 1998 AND 2004) is one of the smaller elementary schools in the district, with approximately 360 students. Wrightstown Elementary is very much an "Everyone knows Everyone" sort of school.

Mrs. Stahl, the Kindergarten teacher, knows my 3 year old by name, and we often talk about when she is getting "The Last Oberhau" in her classroom. Mr. J, the gym teacher? He's a rock star at the school, and manages to make each kid feel special as they meet up in the halls. Everyone says hello as I walk through the halls, and it's just a very welcoming place to be.

With a background in education, I have a tendency to be...let's call it intense...about my children's education. I have never had any concerns about either the quality of the education, or the dedication of the teachers at Wrightstown Elementary. True, I'm only one person, but the general vibe I get from the school is that the teachers are well respected, and the parents happy with how their children are educated.

The PTO is run by a very energetic group of uber-Moms who devise all sorts of activities that enhance the children's education, and raise much needed funds to provide Wrightstown Elementary School with some pretty fancy resources. We've got white-boards, folks. In our little bitty school - white boards!

It's not blind dedication to a favorite school on my part, either. Greatschools.org gives Wrightstown Elementary a distinguished score of 9 out of 10. Schooldigger.com gives Wrightstown Elementary 4 out of 5 stars.

My two girls couldn't be more opposite, and Wrightstown seems to have the perfect fit for both. The teachers are always within reach if I have any questions, and my girls are always eager to get to school. From back to school picnics, to bingo night, the Halloween dance, and school spirit days, Wrightstown makes the school atmosphere seem very welcoming. I am lucky to be a part of this awesome family!!
