Warwick Neck
The website for Warwick Neck says ‘Where It’s All About The Quality Of Life.’ And that pretty much sums up the world of Warwick Neck. Central to the area is it’s Lighthouse, down at the bottom of the Neck, which has safeguarded seafarers since 1826. Currently the Coast Guard maintains this green flashing beacon which earns the distinction of being the last traditional lighthouse built in Rhode Island.

There are many historical aspects to this close-knit community but it is best represented by the Aldrich Mansion, Warwick Neck, reclining on a glorious, seventy-five acre estate overlooking that most scenic of Rhode Island waters, Narragansett Bay. Today it is open for those wanting that perfect setting of beauty and elegance for a wedding or an impressive, well-run facility for a conference or business meeting. But remember that back in the early twentieth century, the Mansion was the expansive home for Rhode Island native, Senator Nelson W. Aldrich. And it was at the Mansion that the Senator’s daughter Abby Aldrich wed John D. Rockefeller, Jr. History has its residence here.

Since we are within ocean view, residents and visitors look to Harbor Light Marina, Warwick Neck, for their boating needs. Situated at the mouth of Warwick Cove, Harbor Light is easily approachable by land and sea and offers over 225 slips, well-appointed facilities, and an able and knowledgeable staff. The Marina has been in operation since 1976. http://www.harborlightmarinainc.com
For a land experience, the Warwick Country Club offers a private course on 140 acres off of Narragansett Bay Avenue. The Club boasts a Donald Ross designed 18 hole golf course rated among the top five in Rhode Island by “Golf Digest”. It also has full-service dining, an Olympic size swimming pool overlooking East Greenwich Bay, three hard surface tennis courts and two clay tennis courts and a platform tennis court.http://www.warwickcc.com
But if your golfing tastes require a shorter shot, try out the Seaview Country Club with the 9-hole regulation length course just waiting for the perfect game. You can always prep at the driving range, too. Online tee times are also available. 401-739-6311
Let’s not forget to be green and visit Morris Farm on Warwick Avenue. Visitors can take a walking tour, tractor trailer ride or stand still and discuss organic farming with those who know. Each season has its advantage, so be sure to check the Morris Farm seasonal produce. In the spring there are group planting tours and, of course, pumpkin picking in the fall. Birthday parties with horse rides are a must. But most of all, indulge in the local veggies that the Farm has to offer. Lastly, be sure and take time to visit the cows. 401-738-1036
