There are numerous plantations and historical forts that are worth checking out as well. Magnolia Plantation and Boone Hall Plantation have breathtaking gardens and often host fun events throughout the year. Fort Sumter and Fort Moultrie, along with Patriot’s Point are great places to go to learn about the local war history and involvement.

No trip to Charleston is complete without paying a visit to one of the three area beaches. Sullivan’s Island, Isle of Palm and Folly Beach are all great options to soak up the sun. If you like to surf or enjoy other water sports, head to Folly Beach.

If you’re a golfer you’re in luck. Charleston offers exceptional, world-class golf on some of the most breath taking courses. The course layouts vary from gorgeous coastal terrains to tight wooded areas, all with varying challenge levels.
