The mess at the old Victor Mill near Greer is mired in ownership issues. The mill needs to be cleaned up of toxic materials that have seeped into the ground over the years, but according to county officials, ownership is not clear. The last known owner died several years ago and the company that managed it says they had severed ties with the owner. Once they get things sorted out, there is a chance for federal funds that will help clean up the site to EPA standards. With the site cleaned up, expect to see an upward trend in Greer real estate prices in that area. It's not far from downtown Greer which has been a leader in the growth of homes for sale Greenville South Carolina.
