Murrells Inlet offers two weekly excursions for serious cyclists. On Thursdays in the afternoons I see a group of serious bikers ride by my house and again on Saturday mornings. I have seen these cyclists rain or shine, winter and summer, I did a little investigating and found this information on the Murrells Inlet 2007 website:
Grand Strand Bicycle Rides
Meet at the Grand Strand Bicycle Shop in Murrells Inlet at 11824 Hwy 17 Bypass for a group bicycle ride. Slower & intermediate riders can meet at the shop at 6pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays for 1 1/2 hour ride. Fast riders can meet at the shop at 7:30 am on Saturdays for a 30-mile 2-hour fast ride.
