Most of us who live in here don't even think about an earthquake in SC. But, we should.
According to the SC Insurance News Service, the earthquake that devastated parts of Haiti last week was smaller than the quake of 1886 that caused widespread damage in SC.
Ninety percent of the brick structures around Charleston SC were damaged in the 1886 quake, which was felt from Cuba to New York and from Bermuda to the Mississippi.
If you don't have earthquake insurance and you live in SC especially the Charleston SC area, it is time to be looking into it. It has been determined that most folks do not carry earthquake insurance.
Earthquake insurance covers the damage to a home and its contents caused by the movement of the earth.

Not that it can, but it will happen again here in SC -- will you be prepared?
