Black Monday

Black Monday

OK -- today is Monday -- must be black Monday -- when I arrived at the
The AgentOwned Realty Company - black monday photooffice today, the staff except one was dressed in black -- I am also dressed in black --

The computers were all down -- guess we had an electrical storm and knocked them all out. The server was out --

To top it off, my computer would not start up at all -- had to call the IT guy from heaven -- he came and fixed it.

All this follows yesterday afternoon --

The AgentOwned Realty Company - baskektball gameThe grandson, Owen (13 yrs) had a basketball game in McClellanville (for those who don't know, this is about 30 minutes from Mt. Pleasant) --

the family (Owen's Granddad, Mom, Uncle, sister-6 yrs- along with 2 of her friends and myself) piled in a suburban to go to the game. The girls were so excited to be going to the game.

About half way there on a very busy highway 17, we had a flat tire. The suburban is practically new (only has 2000 miles) --
The AgentOwned Realty Company -flat tire

of course, no one knew where the spare tire was -- Liza (Owen's Mom) and Claude (the uncle) took out the manual and had to read to find the jack, then the spare tire, ........

Of course, Grandmother (me) and Granddad were extremely nervous because the highway was so busy and we couldn't get very far off the road.

Approx. 40 minutes later, the tire was changed and we could be on our way.

Naturally, by this time, the ball game was almost over -- so, much to the disappointment of the girls, we headed back home.

Now, all this being said and my being the optimistic person that I am, I started to think 'why did all this happen to me?' Then, immediately, I began to think 'where is there good in all of this'.

I am thankful:

1) that we even had a spare tire

2) that Claude and Liza were along, so Boyd & I did not have to change the tire

3) the girls got excited because they had never seen a flat tire before

4) the tire was changed safely and no one got hurt

5) the girls and I got to spend some quality time together while the tire was being changed

6) the computers in the office are all back up and working

7) my computer is working

8) the server is back working

I don't why these things happened yesterday and today to me, but I know there is a reason -- I just have not been told yet.
