If you live in South Carolina and haven't applied for your 4% Tax Rate there is still time! When you purchase a home South Carolina automatically taxes you at 6%. If the home is your primary residence you can apply for this rate at your local tax assessors office. You only have to do this once. 2% might not sound like much, but it will cut your taxes about 50%!
