Ancient Wisdom

Ancient Wisdom

Over 2000 years ago, a Jewish child was born.
He was considered by many to be royalty;
But--He had no great wealth.
And He had no political agenda.

He grew up in a small town and lived by timeless wisdom.
He set an example for all.

He had no degrees, yet he had many students who learned from him.

And He came into the world to make a difference.
He sought no credit for Himself; only for God.

Those who were around Him were changed.
Liars, thieves, prostitutes turned their lives around.
The poor were enabled to endure.
The wise were humbled.
Those who were touched by Him were healed.

He taught the world a lot about forgiveness.
He said things like:

“…As you forgive, so you will be forgiven…”
“…Forgive one who wounds you
as many times as you are injured…”

At the hands of his enemies
He said:

“ … forgive them they know not what they do…"

Especially at times like these, when there is uncertainty and
divisiveness in the world we can choose to follow His worthy counsel:

"Love one another"

This is our prayer for this time of year
for you, your loved ones, for our leaders,
and for every human being on this planet:
that we love one another...

We each deserve enormous reverence and respect,
for each one is created in the divine image
and likeness of God
