It's that time of year again time to decorate for the fall holidays. However if your house is on the market you need to be careful. While bringing out all of your favorite collections to show off is a yearly tradition this year you may have to stop and rethink your usual strategy. Lets start with Halloween. Is your house the one that transforms into the ghoulish haunted mansion the kids love to make their first stop? Well you may need to stop and maybe pass the torch to a neighbor. Going all out may be fun but remember while you are trying to sell you need to keep your decorating simple. There is nothing wrong with tastefully adding some seasonal flair to your home. It will probably help in presenting your home to prospective buyers. But remember just as with every day staging you want people to see what your home has to offer such as square footage, architectural details and upgrades. A bountiful fall arrangement on the dining table, some pumpkins on the steps and of course a festive wreath on the front door will welcome buyers. A creepy ghost or skeleton will only scare away those buyers. Oh and please don't forget about the cobwebs, fake or real they are not welcome this holiday season.
