My son turns 18 tomorrow. It seems like only yesterday he was born. He was a true Christmas miracle born only days before Christmas. Christmas was so crazy, a newborn and Christmas in the same week. He came home on Dec 21st, and was the best Christmas gift my husband and I could have asked for. He only slept 2 hours at a time and had his nights and days mixed up from day one! Everyone flock to see this new born baby, the first grandchild in over 10 years! My mom was beside herself trying to do Christmas and a new grandmother at the same time. Family insisted on seeing the new baby, and It drove my husband crazy, he was so worried someone would come by that had been sick, boy did he screen guest! But this child brought great joy to our family. I remember sitting by Matthew's first Christmas tree rocking a crying baby at 4 am, he stop crying and looked me straight in the eye, I saw innocence and hope in this tiny fussing baby, my mom came in and try her magic and he fell quickly to sleep. We sat and watched this tiny miracle sleep and I really felt like my heart was going to melt. Taking about sleep in heavenly peace, we all rushed to bed before the next cry that usually occurred 2 hours later!! Matt is grown up and will graduate in a few months. Time does fly and memories are precious! Every Christmas I think back of the night Matthew came into our lives, and thanks God for the miracle of my son. The years have gone by so fast and I admit I am sad and happy at the same time. But I thank God for my Christmas Miracle and hope he will one day have a son that will bring great joy to his life. Happy Birthday Matthew!
