The signs are everywhere. The lights have been turned on at City Hall and the legislative building. The front windows of homes throughout the city are filled with the festive mood that decorated Christmas trees lend to the season. Carlyle has held its acclaimed Christmas festival. The Rotary Christmas Carol Festival filled Knox-Met Church in Regina with the sounds of Christmas.
Christmas is a time to make memories and a time to bring back memories. The first Christmas with children, a special gift, a turkey dinner with family and friends. Our tree, for instance, carries with it ornaments gathered from the places we have visited – from St. Andrew’s in Scotland to Peggy’s Cove in Nova Scotia, to the National Monument in Washington, to the Alamo in San Antonio, to the beauty of St. Michael’s on Chesapeake Bay in Maryland, to Yankee Stadium in New York, to the beaches of Jamaica and Mexico, to Niagara Falls in Ontario.
It’s as if a great switch goes on and people’s hearts are filled with warmth, such is the magical pull of Christmas.
EXIT Realty Fusion has always been a part of the Christmas mood, ever since its inception about four years ago. The office in the Gardiner Park Mall has been decorated and, somehow, Christmas treats seem to come with it. The folks at EXIT Realty Fusion, whose hearts are as big as the prairie itself, spend much of every year giving of their time to raise money for charities as wide ranging as breast cancer to the George Reed Golf Tournament for Special Olympics Saskatchewan. They have participated in the annual Santa Claus parade.
And, this year, they could be found joining the Homes for the Holidays show, sponsored in large part by SaskTel. Homes for the Holidays is truly one of the great Christmas attractions, raising funds and awareness for the Kids Help Phone charity.
It involves taking a number of homes that are for sale, decorating them to the hilt, and inviting whoever wants to, to come and see them. It is always well attended, and its win- win for everybody – the home owner trying to sell the home, the people who are treated to viewing spectacular decorations and the Kids Help Phone.
EXIT Realty Fusion sponsored a converted warehouse loft in the old Co-Op Creamery Building in the 1300 block of Halifax Street. The designers for the Home for the Holidays show were the ISC Marketing Department staff. It was stunning.
“It was just beautiful,” said EXIT Realty Fusion EcoBroker Loretta Hughes. “The people who came by loved it, and really got into the Christmas spirit. We are really blessed to have been a part of it.”
From our home to your home, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year filled with good health, good friends and good times.
