One day in the middle of the summer of 2005, Patrice and I were driving back to Maryland from visiting our son Josh in the Air Force. Somehow we knew that we would make a move south. Little did we know that Chattanooga and more specifically Signal Mountain would be our destination.

Because I moved here first while our home in Maryland went on the market, most of our time was spent going back and forth. Before our home search began, we found an older home that we fell in love with. The possibilities we were now faced with became a hobby. Red Oak floors, plaster walls and ceilings, mountain stone and craftsmanship that was unique to the time period.
With each demolition we started we uncovered surprises ...some good, some challenging. We will add from time to time...feel free to share your remodeling experiences!
Since this picture, we have painted and repaired the outside. It is now a shade of yellow/gold with all the shutters removed and trim painted white.
When you look on a map of Signal Mountain, TN in the Old Towne area, our home is at the epicenter. This is interesting because of the 6 springs that originate in the lower right of our property behind the hedges. From here they form a stream that runs into Shoal Creek and eventually into the Tennessee River.
