Whether the Weather is Good or Bad, I'm Staying in Clarksville, TN

Clarksville TN Fort Campbell Ky in the Winter

Middle Tennessee enjoys mild, pleasant weather most of the year amid the rolling hills at 500 feet above sea level. Clrksville, TN is about the same number of feet above sea level as Birmingham, Al where I grew up. Only on a few days of the year does the area experience severe hot or cold conditions. Much of the annual rainfall occurs during the early spring and the late fall but a shower during any season is not unusual. Yearly precipitation as a hole is moderate, with occasional snowfall during the winter. The coldest month is January, during which the low averages 28 degrees; the warmest is July, with an average high of 90 degrees. However, extremes do occur - Clarksville experienced well-below zero temperatures on December 22, 1989, and a cold snap every spring, usually around April, is not uncommon.

The temperature in the area hovers around the 60's over half of the year. Summers are warm and humid, and winters are mild. Balm summer days may bring temperatures in the low to mid-90's, but the river breezes relieve the heat and humidity. Winter highs sometimes reach the 50's, with lows in the 30's.

My first summer in Clarksville was very hot! The temperatures were well over 100 for many, many days. But, as I've been told last summer was unusual. I love the people in Clarksville and I plan on spending the rest of my life here regardless of the weather conditions. Clarksville TN Ft. Campbell KY in the Summer

Yes, but, you had better keep an eye out for that severe weather, especially tornados.

Janie,  I have live in Clarksville since 1982.  In highschool I went swimming in Yellow Creek out past Montgomery Central on March 31st.  We were dismissed from school early the next day for snow.  About 2".
