Clarksville TN, Ft Campbell KY area Fishing

Are you a fishing fan and either live in the Clarksville TN, Ft Campbell KY area or are planing to move here? My husband and children love to go fishing, so I thought I'd share some information on this subject with other friends out there that like to fish as well.

Fishing Licenses for residents can be purchased by:

  • persons who possess a valid Tennessee driver's license
  • Persons who have lived in Tennessee for 90 consecutive days with the genuine intent of making Tennessee their permanent home
  • military personnel on active duty in this state and their immediate families, who reside with them, regardless of resident status
  • students who are enrolled in a Tennessee school, college, or university for at least six months (must have proof of enrollment)

Type of license:

  • Annual Hunting and Fishing combination - $28
  • Junior Hunt/Fish/Trap (ages 13-15) - $8
  • One-Day Fishing - $5.50
  • Annual Trout - $18
  • Sportsman - $136
  • Permanent Senior Citizen Hunt/Fish/Trap (65+) - $11

Non-Resident Fishing Licenses:

  • Annual Fishing (no trout) - $41
  • Juniour Hunt/Fish - $9
  • Three-Day Fishing (no trout) - $16.50
  • Ten-Day Fishing (no trout) - $25.50
  • Three-Day all fish - $33.50
  • Ten-Day all fish - $50.50
  • Annual license all fish - $81

Fishing licenses go on sale on February 18 each year and are valid through the last day of February of the following year. You can purchase most licenses from country clerks, sporting good stores, hardware stores, boat docks, or TWRA website www.tnwildlife.org.

Where would you go fishing in our area?

  • Dunbar Cave Park is the kids favorite because is only minutes from where we live. (We can practically walk there)
  • Cumberland River and Red River are also in very close proximity and with very easy access.
  • Ft Cambell Military Reservation is a great place for all fish to include trout. Several streams on Fort Campbell KY Military Reservation including Noah's Spring Branch, Little West Fork and Fletcher's Fork are stocked with rainbow and brown trout. Special fishing regulations apply and a Post Fishing Permit is required in addition to a valid Tennessee license and trout stamp.   • Land Between the Lakes. All waters are open year round with the following provisions: Farm ponds are open to fishing unless otherwise posted; Bards Lake - Trotlines and limblines are prohibited. Jugs are permitted from October 1 - March 21, with a limit of 10 jugs per person.
  • And if you love to go out for a little drive, you can go try your luck in Paris Landing, Lake Barkley or Kentycky Lake. You will find white, yellow or spotted bass, crappie, bluegill, catfish and many more fish. Please, make sure to check with the reservoir /stream boundary for harvest restrictions.
