I took a leisurely ride around today in the 60 degree sunshine and was inspired to write a short post to introduce everyone to Collegedale, a true hidden gem tucked in the valley of Hamilton County Tn. Cleveland is to the North, White Oak Mountain to the Northwest, Chattanooga to the Southwest and Ringgold Ga. to the South. The scenery is beautiful and for sucha small, well manicured little town, it sure has a lot of conveniences and ammenities.
It is home the Southern Adventist University and McKee's Bakery of Little Debbie fame. There is a post office, a vegetarian market and a fantastic library.
There are 5 banks as well as two credit unions. The Collegedale Credit Union has been making loans and keeping track of people's money for many years. Anyone who lives or works in the city of Collegedale can become a member at this small town feeling financial institution.
Around the corner there is a beautiful family park. It is a great place for a picnic or to take your dog. There are also electrical outlets for those that attend the annual camp meetings in their R.V.s.
The town hall, library, and a senior health care facility are all conveniently located on Apison Pike across the street from he Veteran's Park.
Veteran's Park is a gorgeous place to walk your dog or just go for a leisurley walk. The trails wind for miles and at certain points follows Woltever Creek. It is also very handicapped friendly.
The Little Debbie outlet store is also within walking distance to this location on Apison Pike. You can buy all of the famous snacks at a discounted price, so fill up your trunk!
Oh yes, and one more gathering place, Rafael's Italian restaurant It is a great place for good, affordable food in a family atmosphere. On Friday nights the locals fill up the place.
There are two pharmacies in this little town; Rite Aid and Thrifty Med, a privately owned compounding pharmacy.
So if you are looking for a nice place for your family to grow with an almost non-existant crime rate, modest taxes, and reasonable real estate prices; then come on down! ...or up, whatever applies. And if you do decide to stay, call me to assist you in finding that perfect spot to live because "I Always Sell the Best Spot"!
