Crab Orchard Tennessee

Crab Orchard is one of the oldest communities in Cumberland County. It is located approximately 10 miles west of Crossville on I-40.

If you have ever traveled through Cumberland County you have noticed the stone that graces some of our homes. This stone is found in only one place and that is here in Crab Orchard Tennessee. This sandstone is rare stone only found in the Crab Orchard mountain is known for its pinkish hue. Crab Orchard Stone is used for fireplaces, chimneys, exterior of homes, and walk ways. Crab Orchard Stone was the primary stone used for the Cumberland Homestead Project. This distintive stone is shipped all over the United States.

The Cumberland County courthouse is made of Crab Orchard Stone.
