Over the past few years land in Tennessee has become a very sought after part of the real estate industry. My husband and I have been visiting this area of southeastern Tennessee for over 12 years. Dunlap is just a short 30 minute drive to Chattanooga Tennessee which has been voted one of the best 50 places to live by National Geographic Magazine.
Dunlap Tennessee is the fastest growing town per capita in the state of Tennessee, is an obvious example of rural achievement. Nestled in the center of the Sequatchie Valley, the charming community of Dunlap boasts low moderate climate, affordable cost of living, low real estate taxes, no income state tax and extraordinary hospitality. Southeastern Tennessee's Sequathie Valley is one of the most unique valleys in the world; one of only two 'rift valleys,' the other being the Great Victoria Valley in Africa (Southeast Tennessee Tourism, 2004).
Attractions such as the Dunlap Coke Ovens, , Lookout Mountain, Southern Belle Riverboat, Ruby Falls at Lookout Mountain, Tennessee Aquarium (my childrens favorite place to see) and the Appalachian Trail bring thousands of people to the area, as do events like the Riverbend Festival, World's Longest Yard Sale and the O.K. Hege Memorial Horse Show. Come explore the area's outdoor activities which include hang gliding, bass fishing, mountain climbing, canoeing, hunting, cave expeditions and within minutes from Dunlap TN discover some of the best state parks in the east. Our family's favorite state park to visit every year is Fall Creek Falls Tennessee.
If you are considering moving to the Tennessee area give me a call, I would love to talk to you about the Chattanooga area and all that it has to offer.

Kari-I like all the pictures, but the waterfall is really beautiful. Thanks for sharing with us.
Happy New Years Kari!
Just in case you're in the market for bass-ackwards compliments, I never took TN seriously as a place that could be attractive, but your shots make an excellent case that perhaps I should consider abandoning my slums and heading south!
Cheers,
CSD
Crazy Shark Dude,
Thanks for the compliment. These are only a few of the awesome pics I have of the Chattanooga TN area. We love it there.
Hi Kari, I can see why you love it. You are a great travel writer - makes me want to go there! So why are you working in Florida instead of Tennessee?
Susan,
Thanks for the compliment. I live in Florida because my children are going to school here and all of their aunts and uncles (8 of them) and grandparents live here. We are a very big family and family is very important to us. We do not want to take the kids away from their grandparents. We do go to Dunlap during winter & spring breaks, Thanksgiving and we spend our summers in Dunlap.
Kari - Enough said! Not that Florida is bad - it's a very nice place too. I think being near family is very important. Once of the reasons we moved to northern California from southern California is because my elderly uncle lives here (he's 90) and it made it easier for our daughters to visit us. Of course we also have a wonderful home here in a great area - that's good too!
Kari, what a spectacular area - and - it looks like such a great post! I, for one, would vote for a featured localism post on this. ;-) Do you sell in that market since you live in Florida?
Teri,
Featured Post, you are too kind. That would be awesome though to have a featured post. I promote my properties the best I can on the internet and any leads I may find I refer to my Realtor and long time friend Jane Griswold. I currently own over 700 acres of property in that area consisting of raw land, a couple of residential homes and several commercial buildings.
By the way your cartoon is great. How did you do that?
Kari, jut click on the links. One is from smiley and the other, livesignatures.com. ;-)
Hi Kari,
Your blog on Dunlap caught my eye -- I love what you wrote. I am a realtor in Nashville but my family owns 1500 acres on South Pittsburg mountain which is near Dunlap. We also have a beautiful mountain development called Stoneclift www.stoneclift.com
We have had lots of interest from people in Florida -- if you have any clients, friends or family that are looking for beautiful mountain property, please keep Stoneclift in mind. We also pay very generous referral fees!
Take care,

Teri, That is so cool. Thanks.
Jacquie, I checked your family's website and it is stunning. I may know some people here in Florida that aree interested in Tennessee property. I will definitely keep Stoneclift in mind. Thanks for viewing my post.
Kari...that photo of the waterfall is so pretty! This is a great place to visit.
Ann - This is our familys favorite place to visit, Fall Creek Falls Tennessee. This is the tallest waterfall in the southeastern United States. At Fall Creek Falls they have several other waterfalls too. It is a great family vacation.
We are looking for property to build a timber frame home, do you know of any lots with mountain views for sale? We need an open basement lot...and long distance views. Please email me if you have any information on lots. I will be working at the new VW plant in Chattanooga.
Thanks,
Monica
Monica,
I would love to email you in the morning. If you could please send me your email address so I could respond that would be great. I hear great things about the VW Plant!
