Leipers Fork TN - How to trick or treat when homes are on 5+ acres!

When I first moved to Leipers Fork in Franklin TN, my son was only 18 months old. We hadn't yet truly trick-or-treated with him in a "normal" neighborhood manner, and I was curious as to how we were going to trick-or-treat when all the homes around here are on 5 (or more acres). I mean, really, we'd make it to 3 houses and have to turn around and come home. *eye roll* I certainly wasn't looking forward tromping across country pasture in search of candy!

Well, never fear, the Leipers Fork Merchants Association had already fixed that! Every Halloween, the merchants shops stay open late and all the community children come into town to trick-or treat. If you've never seen hundreds of kids all dressed up and jacked up on sugar in a 1/4 mile stretch, now's your chance! :o) From the "itty bitty's" to the teens, they are a site to see! Festivities start around dusk and go well into the night.

You also never know who else may venture out into the night! Our neighbor, Naomi Judd, has been known to make an appearance most years. I only saw her once, but she had the most priceless grin on her face watching the kids. I'm guessing there's a few more of our famous neighbors hidden under some of those masks!

Come on out and join the fun!
