Merridee's Breadbasket in Franklin TN

When my husband was growing up, his father would go out every Saturday morning for crullers. For those of you not old enough to know, crullers are sweet rolls. My husband looked forward to those Saturday mornings. Unfortunately, when our kids were young there really wasn't a good bakery in our home town. My husband wasn't able to continue that tradition in the way he would have liked. And then we moved to Franklin TN. Saturday mornings here are pure joy thanks to Merridee's Breadbasket in Franklin TN.

This is not a bakery in the normal sense of the word. It is an eatery with wonderful baked goods. We especially like to go on Saturday mornings because Merridees is always busy--rain or shine.

It's fun to sit in this rustic eatery and enjoy the most delicious pecan rolls (sticky buns) on the planet. They have many other luscious treats including pies, cookies, muffins and specialty breads.

They serve breakfast and lunch in addition to their baked goods. Since a picture is worth a thousand words, here are a few for you to enjoy.

Whether you are enjoying their baked goods or having lunch the atmosphere is wonderful. It's the type of place you would expect to see in a charming, little town like Franklin. The staff is always friendly and courteous. Everyone is just generally friendly here. It's easy to strike up conversations with total strangers while enjoying your sticky bun.
