Affordable Living In Cumberland Cove

Affordable Living In Cumberland Cove

When my husband and I decided to move to Cumberland Cove from Miami, Florida earlier this year, we were attracted by the peaceful natural beauty of the Cove and the low cost of living. What we found when we got settled in was that there are so many other benefits to living in Middle Tennessee. From the friendly people and the great centralized location to the many festivals, fairs and monthly events -- we are exceedingly happy in our new home in Cumberland Cove!

We started dreaming about living on the Cumberland Plateau more than ten years ago when we bought a piece of land in Cumberland Lakes. But when friends from Florida decided to build a home in Cumberland Cove this past year, we decided to take a look at homes in the Cove. Pam Dunn from Choice Realty was incredibly patient and showed us quite a few houses and lots before we found a charming Cape Cod-style home nestled in a wooded glade on a beautiful 4.5-acre lot.

Life is good in Cumberland Cove. We have good friends -- old and new. Plenty of activities -- as much or as little as we wish to participate in. And, as a newly retired couple, we enjoy a cost of living here that allows us to maintain a lifestyle that would be impossible if we had stayed in South Florida. We save on all of our insurance, property taxes, and gasoline, plus, there is no state income tax!

In fact, now that we have gotten settled into our new home in Cumberland Cove, we are living the dream. We are free to travel in our motor home, take in a show at the Cumberland County Playhouse or visit one of the many free State Parks in the area. Because we are so centrally located, it's just a few hours drive to visit family and friends in Florida, North Carolina, the Northeast or Midwest.

With Tennessee's affordable living and the stunning natural beauty of Cumberland Cove, we've quickly come to realize that we would not want to live anywhere else! Thank you Pam and the Choice Team!

Thank you Beth Nelson for sharing your move to Tennessee with everyone!!
