The guest at today's Rotary Meeting was Jeff Shoaf from the Tennessee Smokies Minor League Baseball Team. Jeff is the Assistant General Manager, and came as the guest of club member David Andrews of Pioneer Credit Company.
Jeff informed the club that the Tennessee Smokies are in their 11th season st the Stadium at exit 407, and that they will host at least two playoff games in September. Right now, the team is 21 games over 500 which is their best record since 2001. With 14 wireworks shows this season, their average turnout is just under 3800 per game. Jeff said that last year the Stadium drew 265,000 visitors.
