Closings are up in October 2011
Total sales were up over 15% for the month of
October, compared with October of 2010.
"October marks the fourth consecutive month of increased sales for Middle Tennessee" said GNAR President Alice Walker.
Year to date sales are still down 1% compared to the same period in 2010 but the pending sales are up in October which could indicate that the market is starting to stabilize. The median Sales Price for single family homes fell from $173,525 to $162,000, down 7%.
Home sales typically slow down as we enter the holiday season but this is not necessarily the time to take your home off the market. The Buyers looking in the next few months will be some of the most serious Buyers you'll find.
