Buying your first home can be an exciting but sometimes overwhelming process. When it comes to real estate everyone's Brother's, Cousin's, ex best-friend's neighbor's Uncle seems to think that they are "experts" in the field and first time home buyers can become bombarded with so much "advice" that it can make the process seem almost impossible.
The greatest fear is often that of the unknown. The best weapon in conquering fear is knowledge and in attempts to provide our clients with an arsenal of knowledge, Christine McInerney and Jennifer Halinkowski - Team McIn-Kowski with Keller Williams Realty Knoxville have created this blog series specifically for the First Time Home Buyers in Knoxville TN. If it is one thing that my Master's in Education has taught me is that while a process in it's entirety may seem complex and overwhelming, simply breaking it down into small steps makes it much more easier to understand. Therefore, in attempt of keeping it simple and straightforward I have broken the First Time Home Buyer Process down into steps.
Step 1:
The most important thing a First Time Home Buyer can do is to find and connect with a knowledge local REALTOR®. Make sure you pick a REALTOR® who has experience with First Time Home Buyers and who is willing to sit down and explain the process to you. As a former educator, I get great joy out of educating First Time Home Buyers about the process and will gladly provide you with valuable resources and information to ensure that you are comfortable and fully understand the process.
Teaming up with a REALTOR® is a no-brainer as most REALTORS® provide Buyers Agent Services for FREE (as commission is usually paid from the Sellers' side). As REALTORS® we are in and out of homes day in and day out, we are familiar with the market trends, have access to tax records, past sales, have contacts with title companies, mortgage lenders/brokers, home stagers, home inspectors, pest control experts, real estate attorneys, contractors, structural engineers, energy auditors, and much more.
Consider choosing a certified Internet e-Pro® professional REALTOR® as their technology skills can ensure fast and efficient transactions. As an e-Pro® myself I have the ability and knowledge to help me communicate with clients by whatever mean is easiest to you- be it phone, fax, e-mail, even Facebook messaging, or text. I have had many clients that due to work or school schedules could not easily communicate by phone and the majority of our communication was done via text message. The key point is as an e-Pro® REATLOR® I have the ability and willingness to be adaptable to my clients needs- however technological or non-technological they may be.
Whether you are a First Time Home Buyer or purchasing your 20th home contact Christine McInerney and/or Jennifer Halinkowski for professional and exceptional representation- we know our stuff and even more importantly we have the resources and contacts to even find out the stuff that we don't know.
